Eg, Egil Haugland<\/strong>, er f\u00f8dd i 1959 og har musikkutdanninga mi fr\u00e5 Bergen Musikkonservatorium (Griegakademiet) og Norges Musikkh\u00f8gskole, diplomstudiet. Ut\u00f8vande verksemd omfattar solokonsertar, ensembler, TV og radioinnspillingar, film og CD publikasjonar.<\/span><\/p>

I \u00e5ra 1985- 1991 spelte eg konsertar heime og i utlandet p\u00e5 ein gitar bygd av Jose Luis Romanillos (\u00abMargarita\u00bb mod 1980). I tillegg har eg nytta gitarar bygd av Philip Woodfield, Masaru Khono, Dag Ugelstad og meg sj\u00f8lv. Alle desse har granlokk. Eg har og brukt gitarar med cederlokk av byggjarane Jose Ramirez (modell 1A) og Martin Fleeson.<\/span><\/p>

Dei beste konsertopplevingane mine har eg likefullt med Jose L. Romanillos gitaren. Den var ikkje den lettaste \u00e5 jobbe med, kanskje litt lunefull, og den \u00absvara\u00bb ikkje like godt i kvar \u00f8ve\u00f8kt.<\/span><\/p>

Den hadde ein variasjon i timbre, klangregister og klangfargar som dei andre gitarane mangla i same grad. Ikkje den mest volumsterke gitaren eg har hatt , men kanskje den mest spanande.<\/span><\/p>

I \u00e5ra 2001, 2002, 2005 og 2006 fekk eg h\u00f8ve til \u00e5 reise til Jose L. Romanillos i Spania for \u00e5 l\u00e6re \u00e5 byggje gitar hos han og sonen Liam. Eg bygde i alt 4 gitarar under hans leiing p\u00e5 workshopene i Siquenza.<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0I 2006 hadde eg med eit filmteam som filma arbeidet i verkstaden . Seinare vart dette materialet nytta til produksjon av TV -dokumentaren \u00abDen Gode Klangen\u00bb<\/strong><\/em>,<\/strong> <\/a>eng: \u00abIn search of the ultimate sound\u00bb<\/a><\/strong><\/em>,\u00a0 som vart vist p\u00e5 NRK- TV. Denne filmen (25min.) anbefaler eg \u00e5 sj\u00e5, d\u00e5 den gir eit godt innsyn i min m\u00e5te \u00e5 arbeide p\u00e5, b\u00e5de som gitarbyggjar og gitarist. I was born in 1959, and studied performance at the Bergen Conservatoire (Griegakademiet) and the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. My performance career so far has included solo recitals, ensemble work, recording for TV, radio and films and numerous CDs.<\/em><\/span><\/p>

Between 1985 and 1991 I performed in Norway and abroad on a guitar made by Jose Luis Romanillos («Margarita» modified in 1980). I have also performed on Spruce top guitars built by Philip Woodfield, Masaru Khono, Dag Ugelstad and myself, and cedar top guitars built by Jose Ramirez (1A model) and Martin Fleeson.<\/em><\/span><\/p>

My greatest concert experiences have been when playing my guitar built by Jose L. Romanillos. It was not the easiest instrument to work with, as it could be a little temperamental and didn\u2019t always respond immediately when played.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u00a0But it offered a range of timbres, tonal registers and tonal colours that other guitars simply couldn\u2019t match. It didn\u2019t have the biggest dynamic range of all my guitars, but it was certainly the most exciting one to play.<\/em><\/span><\/p>

In 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006 I was lucky enough to visit Jose L. Romanillos in Spain to learn the art of guitar building from Jose and his son, Liam. I built fo<\/span><\/em>guitars under his guidance at his workshops in Siguenza.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>

In 2006 I was accompanied by a film crew who filmed the guitar building process. This footage was subsequently included in the TV documentary<\/span>\u00a0«In search of the ultimate sound»<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>broadcast on NRK. I recommend this film (duration 25 minutes) for the insight it offers into the way I work, both as a guitar builder and as a guitarist, and<\/span><\/em>ur <\/span>\u00a0for an introduction to Jose L.
